On the momentous date of 11-11-11, The Akshaya Patra Foundation completed 11 years of serving mid-day meals to children in Government schools, as an implementing partner of the Central and State Government. Akshaya Patra currently feeds over 1.3 million children across 9 states in India.
To commemorate Teacher's Day, The Akshaya Patra Foundation organised a special event. The programme which began on 06 September, 2014 will run for four Saturdays at different venues across Bangalore.
Too many children in India are unable to realize their potential due to poverty and malnutrition. Under-nutrition is a grave problem that hits children the hardest affecting survival and even participation in education.
