Campaign Overview

It gives me a great pleasure to take this opportunity to make a difference in the Jorhat, the heart of Assam Tea. Very recently I was introduced to Akshaya Patra, and was incredibly impressed when I learned that Akshaya Patra currently feeds over 1.4 million (14 lakh) children mid-day meals in 10,770 schools across India, every school day. 

Akshaya Patra has a kitchen in Guwahati that feeds 53,649 children! My vision is to set up a kitchen in Jorhat where such programme is needed immediately. The unlimited mid-day meal is often the only substantive meal for children here. They come to school for the meal and access education at the same time. 

T.E.A. stands for Teach-Empower-Achieve. The purpose of TEA is to make a tangible difference in the daily life of the children of some of the humblest workers on the planet, by providing them a nutritious lunch every school day. TEA provides the world’s tea businesses a chance to give something back to the families who grow, harvest and process the tea we sell.
