Dear All,

Akshaya Patra strives to fight issues like hunger and malnutrition in India, by implementing the Mid-Day Meal Scheme in the government schools and government-aided schools. Akshaya Patra aims not only to fight hunger but also to bring children to school.

Its an initiative to feed the millions of children in India who have the zeal to learn and achieve, but not the means. By feeding them that one wholesome meal a day, we give them the motivation and nourishment they need to pursue an education and a better future.

As per the programme details the cost to run the Mid Day meal prograame for 1 Child for a year is Rs 950/- ie your donation of Rs 950 can help feed a child for a year and indirectly aid his/her education (there is no minimum amount of donation however pls read below paragraph for income tax deduction). So donate generously to empower children who are the future of India

The Akshaya Patra Foundation is an NGO registered under section 35AC of the Income Tax Act 1961. Therefore every donation above Rs 500 made to The Akshaya Patra Foundation is eligible to a 100% tax exemption under Section 80GGA. Through this fund raising campaign i aim to generate funds that can support the programme for 10 children for a year (to begin with) and look forward to the support of my friends (friends of friends) and family to help me achieve it.
